Former Intern, Jalen Wilkes, talks about his experience with the Meridian Engineering Internship!
What was it like working with Meridian as an Engineering Intern?
Working at Meridian has been fun and educational! I believe I’ve taken major steps in the right direction as a design engineer.
How would you describe your experience at Meridian?
I’m glad I didn’t miss out on this chance to grow as an engineer and take what I’ve learned with me back to school and beyond.
What do you like best about Meridian?
I really enjoy the atmosphere here at Meridian. I like how everyone is so intent on getting things done while at the same time being able to enjoy work. And I also like the physical environment too! Seeing all the kiosks go from thought to production is amazing!
What was your favorite thing you did so far in your internship?
My favorite thing so far in this internship was drawing up designs and making models for the new projects that the sales team bring. It allows me to use my full creative nature to make something that some might have never seen before. And to know that someone else will use it for their company makes it even better.
How did you hear about the internship?
I fell into this internship by chance. I was working for my school’s Engineering program when the heads of Meridian came to the school looking for a design engineer. My advisor introduced me to them and before I knew it, I was interviewing for the position.
What is your favorite Meridian product?
Some of my favorite designs haven’t actually been made for production yet, but the concepts are for a mall. The digital signage looks like the type you see in a movie about the future. It makes it better that I’m part of the design for it!
